Philosophy

Wensy's conscious effort to strive for growth and resilience has really shaped her 10+ years of practice as a RMT. Her commitments of deepening her understanding of the body and human movement through continuing education have given her invaluable tools and connections. Those connections led her to joining the SHIFT team, surrounding herself with like-minded practitioners because she sees the value in combining the experience and knowledge from various disciplines and building a thriving community.

Her affinity for working with her hands along with being attentive, patient, and understanding to her clients' needs carry over to building a successful practice today. What sets Wensy apart from traditional care is not what she does, it's what she pays attention to. Clients may have similar symptoms but the underlying issues are distinctive of one another. This is why she doesn't rely on cookie-cutter methods when treating clients, rather her approach focuses on the global picture of symptoms, compensations, and history being presented. Her treatment approach combines hands-on modalities with movement-based solutions to help her clients take ownership of their health and provide them with the tools to stay pain-free.

Wensy prioritizes a consistent movement and breathing practice to keep her resilient and strong. Cooking and baking is one of the ways she practices self-love. She keeps active by chasing after her toddler and going on family adventures with her 2 dogs

Personal experience/interests

Wensy enjoys treating breathing-related issues, yoga injuries t and foot/gait issues. She has a special interest in prenatal and postpartum, chronic low back and pelvis pain, and jaw tension.

Favourite bone: Wensy's favourite bone to treat is the sternum (breast bone). The sternum is under-assessed for chronic neck and shoulder pain. It's instinctive to protect the chest but Wensy knows that an open heart can go a long way towards treating pain and dysfunction.
