Philosophy

Monika is a movement educator, personal trainer and holistic bodyworker, who uses a variety of manual and movement tools to help people connect their mind and body in a way that promotes better health, reduced pain, and enhanced quality of life.

Above all, her highest value is to help people develop physical mastery- awakening to the full potential of their body so they can live their full potential in all areas of life, more freely with more energy, and less daily aches and pains. She works with all types of people, of various ages and athletic backgrounds, from professional dancers wanting to perform better, to people suffering from chronic pain and limiting health conditions. She values specificity and attention to detail and believes it is important to custom tailor her work to meet each individual where they are according to their needs, goals, and interests.

Personal experience/interests

Monika started dancing when she was 12. She trained in ballet, jazz and modern/contemporary and graduated from Ryerson in 2012 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance performance. Her dance career eventually led to the disintegration of her body. This inspired her to learn how to take care of it through the vast array of continuing education techniques above.

Favourite bone or muscle: Monika loves witnessing the many ways all the bones and muscles can find their way into complex and fascinating organizations that eventually lead back to a phase of gait, keynoting just how wonderfully adaptable and intelligent the body is. She enjoys assessing how we are always trying to find the path of least resistance, and searching for the best possible strategy to keep on keeping on.
